Counterpoint Research data shows that global NAND flash manufacturers hit a record combined revenue of 46 billion US dollars in Q1 2026, surging nearly 3.5 times year-on-year, exceeding the full-year total revenue of 2023.
The strong growth is mainly fueled by robust demand for high-speed storage from AI data centers. Enterprise-grade SSDs currently account for 40% of the NAND market share, and the proportion is projected to surpass 60% by the end of this year. Manufacturers prioritize allocating production capacity to high-margin enterprise-grade products, putting huge pressure on consumer-grade storage supply chains and pushing up storage costs across consumer electronics.
Analysts predict substantial capacity expansion will not be realized until 2027 or later. Tight supply paired with sustained strong demand means consumer-grade SSD prices will remain firm in the short term.
